Abubakar Mwenda is a Kenyan actor, filmmaker, playwright and writer.
He has featured in both film and television productions in Kenya.
He is popularly know for his appearance in two of Kenya's biggest films namely: Nairobi Half Life, directed by Tosh Gitonga and The First Grader.
Abubakar played the role of Simon in East Africa's first telenovela, Kona, which scored him a nomination for Best Actor in Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
He won a Kalasha Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2009.
